| Posted: | | | | It's not a biggie, but since 4.0 may include some *huge* changes, how about the option to assign the "watched by" not to profile, but to a movie?
For example: I have a lot of movies where I own the DVD and the Blu-ray. But when I want to know how many times I watched a movie I have to check both profiles.
Again, this should be strictly an optional display variant of the data, as I don't want to loose the data on how often I watched the DVD or the Blu-ray. Like a switch between "display watched by data by profile / display watched by data by movie". |

I do have a bunch of profiles that are Blu-ray / DVD Combos. However, I know with 100% certainty that the number of times the Blu-ray has been watched is exactly the number of times the movie has been watched. Given a choice between Blu-ray and DVD, I'll take the Blu-ray every single time. But perhaps that's just me. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. But perhaps that's just me. In that cases I do the same, but for example I owned the "Alien Legacy"-Box, then the "Alien Quadrilogy"-Box and now the Alien Blu-ray Box. And I watched "Aliens" at least 3 times from the Legacy box and 2 times from the Quadrilogy before the Blu-ray was even announced. |

But perhaps that's just me. Me too. I'll take Bu-ray over dvd every time. But sometimes I actually did watch the DVD x-times before I got the Blu-ray. Plus I could use it for some movies in different cuts, editions etc. that has their own profiles. | | | Last edited: by No-way |

If it did, we could already be using unified film credits. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

That's why I mentioned 4.0. At the moment it's not possible, but my guess is, that 4.0 *may* contain such big change in the database structure... |

This is actually very possible with the current database. When the program loads a profile it could just run a query against the db and see if there are more profiles with the same original title. If so, read the watched history from those profiles and add the number to the displayed profile. That's one way to do it (a bit simplified). | | | Last edited: by No-way |
