So I used to have a 2013 (2014)  version of the 1986 Little Shop of Horrors on Blue Ray. .( it was a ''used downloaded '  copy passed down to me).. But today I have ordered ( thru Amazon )  the Blue ray of the same title is Diirectors ED. that is listed in the Invelos data as 2017  and it is ONLY listed ( region 1) as a digibook  ( along  with special souvenir  book of  photos etc .. and both versions of the movie theatrical and directors edition ( happy / dark) .
I'm trying to figure what version I bought thru amazon as they do not list upc.. and the Invelos data isn't  helping me out.. as it may not be contributed properly ..

Question:  for $9.99  would I have a digi-book Ed.  or the single  blue plastic case version ?  any one know for sure .. If it is the single blue case edition does it contain both movies or just the longer one only?  as some of the reviews I read on line ( amazon)  for this title say it does not contain the theatrical ed. and others say it does ...  frustrating to the point I have come to the forum for help .

Thanks !

Assuming that blu-ray.com is correct, both the digibook and the standard case editions contain both the theatrical and director's cuts of the film.

Standard Case
Digibook

I just looked on Amazon and I saw 2 different listings for the Director's Cut BD. The standard case was about $13 and the digibook was about $62. Both listings clearly show their respective cases. My guess is that if you got it for $9.99, then it's most likely the standard case version

anyway when it arrives I'll update ..

and thanks CubbyUps hopefully the disc is the same materials as the digibooks contents ..

The HD Slim release is in the database, UPC 883929-612963. Amazon has a back cover shot of it that confirms that it does indeed have both versions. It is most likely the same disc as in the old digibook release, just repackaged.

It does list at $13.79 however, while the DVD lists at $9.99. The DVD does not contain the original theatrical version. Are you sure you didn't order the DVD by mistake?

Edit: It just occured to me that maybe you were talking about Amazon.ca? I was looking at Amazin.com.

Off topic comment:

I saw the stage show of Little Shop of Horrors in London in 1984. It ended with tendrils dropping down on the audience from the ceiling. A bit tamer than the ending in the Director's Cut of the movie, but still a rather startling surprise. Kind of a William Castle moment

Thanks for that, GSyren.  It's posts like that that keep me coming back.  (Also - you have a genuinely great DVD collection which is pleasingly diverse.)

Incidentally (and I'm aware I'm taking this even more off-topic): the director's cut on the BD - is it very different to the normal cut, or is it just the different ending that the regular DVD has as a deleted scene?

AlunH  has a longer ending that is very dark... the first aprox  85 min is the same on both editions .
